This is awarded to students with high need.





*Ave Maria Academy Teacher Scholarship



  1. The following criteria will be used in awarding the scholarship:
 
    • Primary consideration is given to a Junior or Senior student studying Elementary Education from Minnesota.
 
    • Secondary consideration is given to a student from Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, or North Dakota.
 
    • The recipient may retain his/her award as long as he or she maintains a GPA of 3.0 and remains in good academic standing as determined by the Dean of the College.

No other restrictions will apply.





*Barbara S. McGuire Memorial Scholarship



The Barbara S. McGuire Memorial Scholarship was established in 2014 by the McGuire family in memory of Barbara S. McGuire. Criteria for this endowed scholarship are the recipient must demonstrate financial need, recipient must be majoring in Special Education, Secondary Education or Elementary Education. The award may be retained if the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA.

Preference for a full-time Benedictine College student majoring in biology and demonstrating high financial need or facing circumstances preventing them from pursuing their Bachelor of Science degree without assistance. Secondary consideration available to students majoring in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs. Thrid preference for students majoring in the above disciplines and participating on the Raven Football team. The recipient may retain this award throughout undergraduate sutdy at benedictine College if they remain in good academic standing as determined by the Dean of the College.

*Catherin V. Merrill Foundation Scholarship



Applicants should be graduates from Catholic high schools in the KC area, or are Catholics from other high schools in KC; must maintain a 2.75 GPA, 15 hours in a semester and remain in good standing. The scholarship will follow the incoming freshman students throughout their four years at BC.





*Charlene & Bob Slater Scholarship



Primary consideration for students from Bishop LeBlond HS in St. Joseph, MO
Secondary consideration for all other students requiring financial assistance.

The recipient may retain the award throughout their undergraduate study at BC as long as they remain in good academic standing, per the Academic Dean.





*Chris Glenski Alumni Mentorship Scholarship



The following criteria will be used in awarding the scholarship:

o    Preference made to Junior or Senior studying Accounting or Finance with a GPA of 3.75 or higher with highly demonstrated financial need.

o    A Junior recipient   may retain his/her award, throughout   undergraduate   study at Benedictine College as long as he/she remains in good academic standing as determined by the Dean of the College and as the criteria of the scholarship designate.

o     Scholarship recipient will be decided by the Financial Aid Office at Benedictine College, in consultation with the Chair of the Business Department and the Director of the Thompson Center for Ethics and Integrity in Business at Benedictine College. The Chair and the Director will help suggest students that exhibit leadership, professionalism, and academic excellence.

o     No other restrictions will apply.

This is a current year scholarship created by friends of Darryl Jones.





*Deacon Chuck Adams Scholarship



Specific terms and conditions of the distribution of annual realized gains from the Deacon Chuck Adams Scholarship are as follows: o Preference for a full-time Benedictine College student majoring in economics and demonstrating high financial need or facing circumstances preventing them from pursuing their Bachelor of Science degree without assistance. o Secondary consideration available to students in the School of Business studying marketing, management or International business. o Third preference for students majoring in the above disciplines and minoring in English or journalism and mass communication. o Fourth preference for students majoring in the above disciplines and minoring in entrepreneurship or theology.





*Dennis J. McCarthy Scholarship



Donors gifts from family and friends in memory of Dennis J. McCarthy. Preference is given to students pursuing a bachelor's degree in art, who have financial need, and must maintain a 3.0 grade point average.





*Downey Engineering Scholarship



This is a current year scholarship created by the Downey Family Foundation. This is a need based scholarship for engineering students.





*Dr. Mary Brothers Nursing Award



Award to be provided to Nursing student per head of Nursing Dept.





*E.E. Newcomer Enterprises Foundation Scholarship



A current year scholarship donated by the Newcomer Family Foundation for students with financial need.

The scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Patrick T. Farrell in memory of George and Alice Farrell, Sr. Romana Farrell, OSB, and Pete and Elizabeth Umscheid. Preference is given to students with financial need.

*Joe & Carol Dingman Scholarship



Scholarship awards shall be given to Hispanic students who are the first in their families to attend college and will be applied after all federal and institutional aid is posted. The scholarship should reduce student loan debt, but not eliminate it. Secondary consideration available to all other Hispanic students requiring financial assistance, following same awarding guidelines as listed above.





*Just Your Average Joe



This is a current year scholarship created by Diane and Russ Megargle. The qualifications for the "Just Your Average Joe" scholarship are: Catholic, American citizen, Average grades or better, out of state, and non-athletic (not in a competitive sport).





*Katherine Ellen McHugh Scholarship



Distributions are designated for Juniors/Seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.





*Katie Scott Soccer Scholarship



The Reynolds family (Mark and Ann) established an annual scholarship of $2,900 to a women’s soccer player who received the “BCWS K-Rey Teammate of the Year Award” to a rising senior honoring former player Katie (Reynolds) Scott who passed away 02/01/2018. Awarded each year after a team vote.





*Landon Family Scholarship



The scholarship was established through gifts from the Landon family. Preference is given to descendant of the Landon family. Second preference is given to a student in good academic standing, who has proven financial need, and who has submitted a personal essay on their faith and values on life, which will be shared with the Landon family.





*Lanzano Scholarship



A current year scholarship donated by Deane Lanzano. The scholarship is awarded on academic merit annually.





*Liljestrand Scholarship



Awarded to students to assist with attending Benedictine College, following the closing of St. Gregory's College in Oklahoma





*Mark McGuire '77 Education Scholarship



The following criteria will be used in awarding the scholarship:
o  Preference given to Elementary Education majors.
o  The recipient(s) may retain this award as long as he/she remains in good academic standing as determined by the             Dean of the College.
o  This scholarship may be renewable for up to four years.





*Memorare Scholarship



This scholarship was created for students with financial need. Funds depleted at the conclusion of the 2020-21 academic year.





*Michael Martin Memorial Scholarship



To be awarded to a Senior, non-athlete in good academic standing . Preference to students with financial need . Secondary consideration to students in the School of Business or studying Theology





*Moroney Memorial Scholarship



This is a current year scholarship. The scholarship was established through gifts from James P. Moroney in memory of his wife, Beatrice Heibel Moroney, 1910 alumna of MSSC; and his brothers, Vincent, 1923, and Bernard, 1928, alumni of SBC. Preference is for students from Oklahoma and Colorado.





*Richard W. Miller Engineering Scholarship



Awards shall be made to students majoring in engineering, with preference to students in their junior or senior year of engineering . The recipient may retain his/her award as long as he or she remains in good academic standing.





*RubinBrown Scholarship



Current scholarship designated for the following students:
- Junior or Senior enrolled in Accounting, Finance or related programs in the Benedictine College School of Business
- Belonging to an ethnic minority
- Must demonstrate financial need

Preference of the donor to awards the full $10,000 scholarship to one student each year. Retainable, provided the student maintains good academic standing as determined by the Dean of the College.





*S. Bernice and Michael Horan Scholarship



This endowed scholarship was created by contributions by S. Bernice and Michael Horan. The criteria for the S. Bernice and Michael Horan Scholarship is earmarked for full-time students who have declared a major or minor in Mathematics, maintain a GPA of 3.0, and are U.S. citizens. If a recipient does not match these criteria items, then the Office of Financial Aid may choose the recipient.





*Saint José Sánchez Scholarship



Matthew and Cathryn Schuck established the Saint José Sánchez Scholarship in September 2016, and they provided funding of a current year scholarship for 2017-2018. The scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student who is enrolled full-time at Benedictine College, and who has achieved an ACT score of at least 28 or higher OR be ranked in the top 10% of their graduating class and have achieved an ACT score of at least 26. The recipient should be a practicing Catholic and be a member or pursuing membership in the Ravens Respect Life club and/or its successor organization dedicated to protecting the sanctity of human life. The recipient must be enrolled in the pre-nursing curriculum or majoring in Nursing or Engineering. Recipients who change majors will no longer be eligible to receive this award. The recipient shall be a citizen of the United States of America. The recipient may retain this award up to four years as long as he/she maintains a GPA of at least 3.5.





*St. Gertrude the Great Scholarship



The St. Gertrude the Great Scholarship is awarded with
- Primary preference for female Benedictine College students living in Mary's House (on-campus).
- Secondary preference for female Benedictine College students discerning religious life.

For students majoring in Nursing





*Theresa Ann Devroy Art Scholarship



Current Scholarship targeted to Art Majors.





*Thomas J. Flatley Memorial Scholarship



Preference for students at Benedictine College in Atchison KS who hail from New Hampshire with demonstrated financial need, esp. from families with more than one child at Benedictine.





*Tobore Scholarship



A current year scholarship created the gifts from The Tobore Scholarship Fund of the InFaith Community Fdn. for a nursing student . The fund was established by Neil Schulte and Matthew and Erin Schulte.





*Wrestling Scholarship



This is a current year scholarship donated by the USA Kids Wrestling District 1 of Kansas.





Abbot Brendan Downey, OSB Scholarship



The Abbot Brendan Downey, OSB Scholarship was created in his memory. He was the fifth abbot of St. Benedict's Abbey, and passed away while in office Sept. 4, 1980. Criteria for this scholarship is based on financial need.





Abbot Cuthbert McDonald, OSB Scholarship



The scholarship was established by a gift from Leo J. Hulseman and donors gifts given in honor of Abbot Cuthbert McDonald, OSB. Preference is given to students with scholastic achievement and financial need.





Al & Betty Radetic Family Scholarship



The following criteria will be used in awarding the Al and Betty Radetic Family Scholarship: Consideration available to all students requiring financial assistance. The recipient may retain his/her award, throughout undergraduate study at Benedictine College, as long as he or she remains in good academic standing as determined by the Dean of the College.





Alfred G. Ferguson Scholarship



This endowed scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Alfred G. Ferguson. The criteria for this scholarship is for Kansas high school graduates who plan to major in Pre-Law or General Engineering.





Alice Evans Pratt Scholarship



The Alice Evans Pratt Scholarship was established by Michael Murray. The criteria for this scholarship is earmarked for female students with demonstrated financial need. The award may be retained as long as the student remains in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.





Alvin J. and Leona M. Lueger Scholarship



Robert and Susan Lueger, and Donald and Diane Lueger created this scholarship in memory of their parents, Alvin J. and Leona M. Lueger. Preference is for students from Nemaha County, Kansas, based on academic merit and financial need.





Always A Raven Scholarship



Created by graduating seniors who graciously donated back to Benedictine College their room deposit fees. For students with demonstrated financial need.





Ann and Jack O'Sullivan Scholarship



An anonymous donor created this scholarship in memory of Ann and Jack O'Sullivan. Preference is restricted to African-American students with academic ability, character, and intent to graduate. Award may be retained if recipient maintains qualifications. Second preference is restricted to a Hispanic student who meets the same qualifications.





Anna S. Berezina Derrick Scholarship



Anya Berezina Derrick created this scholarship. Preference is given to an international student with emphasis from Russia or the West Banks of Jordan in the Middle East. Second preference is given to students intending to study abroad in Florence, Italy.

The scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Anthony Zaleski. Preference is for students with financial need, and studying for the priesthood.

Arthur and Terri Catrambone Scholarship



Art and Terri Catrambone created this scholarship. Preference is for full-time undergraduate students in good standing academically, average or above average grades, financial need, a serious desire to complete education and earn a degree, and must have a reputation and character that is a credit to Benedictine.





Artie Long Scholarship



The Artie Long Scholarship was established in memory of long-time football volunteer, Artie Long, through gifts from Larry Lady, Dan and Mary Carol Garrity, Stephen and Amy Minnis, Mike and Debbie Hundley, Jamie and Katy Mueller, and Ben Schmidt. Criteria for this scholarship are the Benedictine College student must be a Raven Football manager their senior year and must demonstrate financial need.





Aunt Maude's Scholarship



Preference to rural students from Kansas/Missouri requiring financial assistance. Secondary consideration  to students majoring in Education





Barbara S. McGuire Memorial Scholarship



The Barbara S. McGuire Memorial Scholarship was established in 2014 by the McGuire family in memory of Barbara S. McGuire. Criteria for this endowed scholarship are the recipient must demonstrate financial need, recipient must be majoring in Special Education, Secondary Education or Elementary Education. The award may be retained if the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA.





BC Endowed Scholarship (Consolidated)



Donors gifts given to the Benedictine College endowment program. Preference is for students with financial need.





Benedictine Raven Soccer Booster Endowment



The BRSB Endowment was created by members of the Benedictine Raven Soccer Boosters. The criteria of this scholarship is earmarked for students who are athletes of the varsity men's or women's soccer teams at Benedictine College.





Benny and Linda Welch Scholarship



The Benny and Linda Welch Scholarship was created by their son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Ashley Welch, in memory and appreciation for their support of his college career.

Awarding preference is for full-time Benedictine College student(s) demonstrating high financial need and majoring in Biology.

Secondary consideration is available to students majoring in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) programs.

Tertiary consideration is available to students meeting the criteria above who are participating on the Raven Men's Football team.

Retainable throughout undergraduate study as long as the student remains in good academic standing as determined by the Dean of the College.





Bert Gates '69 & Meaghan Gates '01 Scholarship



Preference for Nerinx Hall High School students attending Benedictine College. Secondary consideration available to a student from another St. Louis area school. Tertiary consideration available to all other students requiring financial assistance.





Bill Ryan Thompson Medal Scholarship



JR/SR in Accounting, Economics, Finance, International Business, Management or Marketing, or other major associated with the Thompson Center for Integrity in Finance and Economics. Chosen by Director of Thompson Fellows program, in conjunction with the Chair of the School of Business and the Director of Financial Aid





Blessed Miguel Pro Scholarship



Student majoring in Engineering or Nursing. Preference to students from State of Illinois





Bo and Terry Fraser Scholarship



Bo and Terry Fraser created this scholarship. 1st preference is to graduates of Fr. Tolton Catholic HS in Columbia, MO 2nd Preference is given to rural students, with proven academic success, who have a financial need.





Bob '45 and Pat '47 Latz Endowed Scholarship



Family and friends created this scholarship in memory of Bob and Pat Latz. Preference is for students with financial need. This award may be renewed annually as long as the student remains in good academic standing.





Bob Henry Political Science Scholarship



Preference for students majoring in Political Science. Secondary consideration available to all other students requiring financial assistance. Must remain in good academic standing.





Boeding Rice Family Scholarship



James and Alice Boeding Rice established this scholarship. Preference is given to descendants and relatives of James and Alice Boeding Rice. Secondary preference is to residents of Nemaha County, Kansas. Final consideration goes to students graduating from Catholic High Schools. The award may be renewed as long as he or she remains in good academic standing with at least a 2.0 GPA.





Broderick-Devling Scholarship



Robert and Frances (Devling) Broderick created this scholarship. Preference is for students from farming or rural background, should be need-based, with no academic restrictions.





Bucky Thompson Memorial Scholarship



The scholarship was established through gifts from family and friends in memory of 1st Lt. Richard W. "Bucky" Thompson who was killed in the Vietnam War. Preference is restricted to male high school seniors or graduates from Atchison County, Kansas, and who plans to obtain a degree from Benedictine College.





Byron G. Thompson Family Scholarship



The Byron G. Thompson Family Scholarship was created by Byron G. Thompson and many of his friends and the Thompson family. This scholarship is earmarked for undergraduate students enrolled full-time at Benedictine College, who hail from large families. The student must demonstrate financial need.





C. Larry Brookshire Scholarship



The C. Larry Brookshire Scholarship created by Michael and Catherine Murray will educate students in the Benedictine College School of Engineering with preference to Electrical Engineering. The recipient(s) may retain the award throughout undergraduate study at Benedictine College, as long as they remain in good academic standing as determined by the Dean of the College.





C.M. and Betty Moore Scholarship



The scholarship was established through gifts and from a bequest of Mary E. "Betty" La Galle Moore. Preference is given to any full-time Benedictine College students with financial need.





Carrigan-Fitzgerald (Class of 1997) Scholarship



Donors gifts given in memory of Sr. Celine Carrigan, OSB, and Br. Vincent Fitzgerald, OSB. Preference is given to descendants of the Benedictine College Class of 1997 or be full-time students with a 2.5 grade point average and have a financial need.





Charlene & Bob Slater Family Scholarship



Primary consideration will be given to a student from Bishop LeBlond High School in St. Joseph, MO. Secondary consideration available to all other students requiring financial assistance.





Charles '50 & Natalie '51 Moritz Scholarship



Recipient shall have highly demonstrated financial need. The scholarship may be renewable for up to four years.





Charles and Ernestine Linck Scholarship



The scholarship was established through gifts given by Charles Linck. Preference is restricted to students enrolled full-time at Benedictine College and have the last name of Linck; be a descendant of Louis Linck, Charles Edward Linck Sr., Grace Elizabeth Miller Linck or Andrew Miller; and be a resident of Brown or Doniphan counties in Kansas.





Charles F. Schaff Scholarship



The scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Charles F. Schaff. Preference is given to any full-time students that demonstrates both need and merit.





Charles G. Lyman Scholarship



The scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Charles G. Lyman. Preference is given to any full-time students.





Charles L. Visnic Memorial Scholarship



The scholarship was created by the family of the late Charles L. Visnic. This scholarship is earmarked for a football player with financial need.





Chicago Scholarship



This endowed scholarship was created by the late Mary Kay McAllister. The criteria for this scholarship is for students from Trinity High School in River Forest, IL. Secondary consideration is available to all other Chicago area students requiring financial assistance.





Chris Glenski Alumni Mentorship Scholarship



The following criteria will be used in awarding the scholarship:

o    Preference made to Junior or Senior studying Accounting or Finance with a GPA of 3.75 or higher with highly demonstrated financial need.

o    A Junior recipient   may retain his/her award, throughout   undergraduate   study at Benedictine College as long as he/she remains in good academic standing as determined by the Dean of the College and as the criteria of the scholarship designate.

Class of '72 Scholarship

Coach Ralph Nolan Scholarship



Donors gifts given in memory of Ralph Nolan. Preference is restricted to an outstanding athlete who maintains a 3.0 grade point average.





Col. William J. '52 and Pat Joyce Scholarship



Catholic students participating in college work-study program with highly demonstrated financial need. Preference to students from the Tulsa, OK metropolitan area.





Corbett Scholarship



The scholarship was established through gifts given by Vincent Corbett. Preference is given to legacy students of Vincent and Elizabeth Corbett; descendants of Navy officers who served from 1930-1942 during WWII; students from the Greater Wichita area; or students from southern Kansas showing a financial need.





Dan and Terri Carey Family Scholarship



Donors gifts given in honor of Dan and Terri Carey. Preference is given to full-time Benedictine College students with academic and leadership potential.





Dana Allan Villeme Memorial Scholarship



The scholarship was established through gifts by Col. Donald & Charlotte Villeme in memory of their son, Dana Allan Villeme. Preference is for graduates from Topeka West High School, who have a 2.5 grade point GPA, and have financial need. Second preference is any full-time Benedictine College student that has a 2.5 GPA and financial need.





Daniel G. Rupp Memorial Scholarship



The scholarship was established through gifts from the family in memory of Dan Rupp. Preference is given to high school graduates from Thomas More-Prep in Hays, Kansas (interested in business, economics and/or varsity basketball); high school graduates from the Diocese of Salina; or residents from western Kansas (west of I-35). Students must have a 3.0 grade point average and demonstrated financial need.





Darren Couts Memorial Scholarship



The endowed Darren Couts Memorial Scholarship was established through gifts from the family and friends in memory of Darren C. Couts, class of '00. The criteria for this award is for students enrolled full-time at Benedictine College. Preference will be given to a junior or senior who is studying athletic training or sports medicine. Financial need is not a requirement. The recipient may retain this award as long as he or she remains in good academic standing with at least a 2.0 GPA.

For students with highly-demonstrated financial need

The following criteria will be used in awarding the scholarship: Preference for a full-time Benedictine College student majoring in economics and demonstrating high financial need or facing circumstances preventing them from pursuing their Bachelor of Science degree without assistance. Deane Law '55 & Paolo, Ph.D. Lanzano Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship awards shall be given to students who demonstrate exceptional financial need and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA





Decker Memorial Leadership Scholarship



This scholarship was established by Gary and Gloria Seib in loving memory of Harvey L. and Pansy A. Decker. The scholarship shall be awarded to a student(s) who have declared as their major(s) Special Education and/or Secondary Education and/or Elementary Education.





Dennis J. McCarthy Memorial Scholarship



Donors gifts from family and friends in memory of Dennis J. McCarthy. Preference is given to students pursuing a bachelor's degree in art, who have financial need, and must maintain a 3.0 grade point average.





Diane "Elizabeth" Quigley Scholarship



Sean, Megan, and Chad Quigley created the Diane "Elizabeth" Quigley Scholarship in memory of their loving wife and mom, and in thanksgiving for the love and prayers of the Benedictine College and Pius X High School communities. The scholarship is awarded to graduates of Pius X High School in Lincoln, Neb, to attend Benedictine College





Dickinson Scholarship



Primary consideration for students with highly demonstrated need rom the 1st Congressional District of KS, or Catholic Diocese of Dodge City or Salina





Don and Amy Kassing Scholarship



The Don & Amy Kassing Scholarship was established in 2014. This scholarship shall be awarded to a student athlete who has demonstrated academic excellence by sustaining a gpa of 3.0 or higher.





Donald E. & Roselyn Schmidt Scholarship



Donald and Roselyn Schmidt created this scholarship. Priority is given to students with a relative from the class of 1957. Preference is given to graduates of Thomas More Prep-Marian High in Hays, Kansas, and other students from Ellis County, Kansas. Student athletes will also be given special preference.





Donnell M. & Shelly A. Rehagen Family Scholarship



Preference to graduates of Helias Catholic School in need of financial assistance. In lieu of eligible graduates from Helias Catholic School, a graduate from any other Catholic secondary school with the Diocese of Jefferson City, MO may be considered.





Dorothy (Joyce) Miller Nursing Scholarship



The Richard W. Miller family created this scholarship in memory of Dorothy (Joyce) Miller. Preference is given to a student with a declared major in nursing or pre-med studies. The scholarship was established through gifts from the Honorable Harry and Edith Darby. Preference is restricted to full-time students who have already earned 58 credit hours. They must be seeking a four-year degree, have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, and demonstrate academic ability and leadership. Students must submit a letter of application and a minimum of two letters from Benedictine College faculty or staff supporting the applicants' contributions.





Edith Nordhus Herbin Nursing Scholarship



The Edith Nordhus Herbin Nursing Scholarship has been created in memory of the Nordhus Family. The annual award shall be consistent with College guidelines governing endowed funds and will be used for the educational purposes of the eligible recipient(s). The scholarship is to be applied toward tuition only. The following criteria will be used for awarding the scholarship:

- The Scholarship is to be awarded to a Benedictine College Nursing student(s), as determined by fund size.

The Mary Domitilla Schober Scholarship was established by Jean Schober McConachie and her two brothers, Robert and Willard Schober, in memory of their mother. Preference for this scholarship is that it be awarded to any full-time students.

The scholarship was established by Byron Scott in memory of his mother, Mary E. Graboski. The students must be female and from Colorado. They also must be non-Catholic and the first generation in their family to attend college. 2nd Preference will allow athletes to receive the award as long as they meet the other four criteria listed. The scholarship was established through gifts given by the Mount St. Scholastica College alumnae association in honor of Mother Lucy Dooley, OSB and her predecessor, Mother Aloysia Northman, OSB. Preference for the Mother Lucy Scholarship is restricted to female graduates of Atchison high schools. Preference for the Mother Aloysia Scholarship is awarded to current resident sophomores on the basis of financial need, scholastic achievement and community service. Peter L. Clevinger Soccer Scholarship



The Peter L. Clevinger Soccer Scholarship was established by Ralph and Kathy Clevinger in memory of their son, USAF Airman First Class Peter Clevinger. A 2011 graduate of Benedictine College, Peter was an award-winning men's soccer player. This endowed scholarship criteria has preference to a member of the Raven Men's Soccer Team based on financial need with recommendation of the Head Coach; and secondary consideration is for a Benedictine College student who is active in inter-collegiate sports.





Piazza Family Scholarship



The Piazza Family Scholarship was established by Anthony and Gail Piazza. The criteria for the scholarship is for any full-time student who resides on campus, is majoring in Religious Studies or English, and has maintained a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

James Pretz, MD created this scholarship. Preference is given to graduates of Bishop Ward High School in Wyandotte County, Kansas. Second preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need. This endowed scholarship was created by contributions by S. Bernice and Michael Horan. The criteria for the S. Bernice and Michael Horan Scholarship is earmarked for full-time students who have declared a major or minor in Mathematics, maintain a GPA of 3.0, and are U.S. citizens. If a recipient does not match these criteria items, then the Office of Financial Aid may choose the recipient.





Saint Jose Sanchez Scholarship



Matthew and Cathryn Schuck established the Saint José Sánchez Scholarship in September 2016, and they provided funding of a current year scholarship for 2017-2018. The scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student who is enrolled full-time at Benedictine College, and who has achieved an ACT score of at least 28 or higher OR be ranked in the top 10% of their graduating class and have achieved an ACT score of at least 26. The recipient should be a practicing Catholic and be a member or pursuing membership in the Ravens Respect Life club and/or its successor organization dedicated to protecting the sanctity of human life. The recipient must be enrolled in the pre-nursing curriculum or majoring in Nursing or Engineering. Recipients who change majors will no longer be eligible to receive this award. The recipient shall be a citizen of the United States of America. The recipient may retain this award up to four years as long as he/she maintains a GPA of at least 3.5.

Recipients must maintain a 2.5 grade point average in order to retain the award.

The William F. Lindquist Scholarship was established through gifts given by family and friends in memory of William F. Lindquist. Preference is given to full-time students, who are academically gifted with at least a 3.0 GPA, and have a financial need.

The William Randolph Hearst Foundation established this scholarship. Preference is given to any full-time students with financial need.





William T. and Patricia C. Bowler Scholarship



The scholarship was established through gifts from William T. Bowler in memory of his wife, Patricia Bowler. Preference is given to full-time students with scholastic achievement and financial need.





Williford-Reiss Memorial Scholarship



John K. Reiss established this scholarship. Preference is given to students intending to study for the priesthood or enter religious life, or majoring in Youth Ministry. If none apply, the award may be given to a student working for teacher education certification and intending to teach in a Catholic grade or high school.
